Unicoi State Park Cabins
From LoveToKnow Camping
Unicoi State Park cabins allow campers to make the most of one of Georgia's scenic natural resources.
Unicoi State Park and Surrounding Areas
Unicoi State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest, two miles from the Alpine Village of Helen. Covering 1,050 acres, the park features a 53-acre lake and a network of trails for hiking and biking, in a scenic mountain setting. The lake provides opportunities for fishing, swimming, and relaxing on the beach. Canoe and pedal boat rentals are available seasonally. Campers may also want to take advantage of periodic educational and cultural programs offered at the park.
Helen is a tourist destination in its own right, with Bavarian-style architecture, Oktoberfest, and other signature events drawing visitors. Visitors can also enjoy tubing, whitewater rafting, hiking, and horseback riding in the Helen area, as well as visiting other natural Georgia attractions such as the Appalachian Trail and Brasstown Bald.
Unicoi State Park Cabins and Other Accommodations
While the park offers numerous tent, trailer and RV campsites, travelers who aren't comfortable roughing it or who don't have a recreational vehicle in which to stay may enjoy staying in a cabin or the park's lodge.
Cabin Accommodations
Those looking to experience cabin living at the park will feel right at home in the park's cottages. Unicoi State Park offers 30 cottages, three of which are designated "dog-friendly" and allow up to two dogs to stay with their owners. Prices range from $70 to $140 per night, depending on the size of the cabin, the season, and the day of the week. Enjoy the best prices during the off-season of December through April. There is an additional one-time fee of $40 per dog for guests staying in the dog-friendly cottages.
Cabin amenities include:
- One, two, or three bedrooms
- One bathroom
- Stove
- Refrigerator
- Kitchen utensils
- Dining utensils
- Bed linens
- Blankets
- Towels
- Wood-burning heaters and fireplaces in some units
Lodge
If you're looking for something a little less rustic than the cottages, the Lodge and Conference Center may be just what you need. The Lodge has 100 rooms available, with 66 standard double rooms, four ADA-compliant double rooms, and 30 lofts. Prices vary from $75 to $135 a night. As with the cabins, the exact cost depends on the month and day of your stay. The lowest rates are available during December, January, and February. Lodge rooms come with all the features you'd expect from a hotel room, including cable TV, coffee makers, and hair dryers. Group reservations are available for businesses or organizations looking to take advantage of the park's Conference Center facilities.
