Public Outdoor Campgrounds in North Carolina

Arrowhead Campground

Open year round, Arrowhead Campground offers camping fees for $12 and $15, depending on whether you want electricity at the campsite. All sites permit pets and reservations must be made at least three days in advance of your arrival. Arrowhead does not permit alcohol, and ATV’s are only allowed on designated trails. Arrowhead Campground provides a modern camping environment ideal for families. Situated in the picturesque outer banks of North Carolina in beautiful Bogue Banks, Arrowhead offers 170 campsites with more than 135 full hookups, and free cable TV service. A campground host is located at site 22.

Badin Lake Campground

Badin Lake Campground offers 37 sites for trailer and tent camping. Some sites are located directly on the lakeshore. Every site provides a table, grill, tent pad, and lamp post. All sites permit pets. Water spigots for drinking water are located in both loops. Showers and flush toilets are located in both the upper and lower loops. Pay stations are situated at the entrance of both loops. Badin Lake Campground is open year round, with camping fees of $12 or $24 per night, for single or double sites. A Campground host is located at Site #12. There is no electricity, water, or sewer site hook-ups at Badin Lake Campground. Alcohol is not permitted. ATV's are allowed only on designated trails.

Canebrake Horse Campground

Canebrake Horse Campground is the newest campground in the Uwharrie National Forest. Situated in the Badin Lake area, Canebrake Horse Campground offers 32 miles of horse trails, with extensive modern amenities for horse campers. Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance of arrival. There is no electricity, water, or sewer site hook-ups at this campground. ATV's are only allowed on designated trails. Alcohol is not permitted. The campground is open year round. Camping fees are $12.00 or $24.00 per night, for single-size or double-size sites. A campground host is located in site #20. All sites allow pets. The main attraction of this campground are the area's 25 spectacular riding trails, which all can be accessed from the camp by the home trail.
