The Size of Fiberglass Camping Trailers

No matter how much space you need, there is a fiberglass camping trailer that will work. As you might guess, the size of the camping trailer can greatly affect the purchase price.

Different manufacturers have different ways of sizing camping trailers; the most common size designations include small, medium, and full size:

  • Small – Many campers are young couples and empty nesters. With this in mind, camping trailer manufacturers have small camping trailers that can easily be towed behind small vehicles. A motorcycle can even tow some; this is very convenient if you and your spouse like riding motorcycles and camping. Also, with the small size you can usually get where other types of camping trailers cannot get, providing RV campers the possibility to seek out a remote destination.
  • Medium – A medium size fiberglass trailer will give you as many options as other popular mid sized camping trailers with a considerably less towing weight. This means you will spend less on the purchase and less on fuel getting to your destination, leaving you with more money to spend on your vacation. Medium sized camping trailers are a very popular option for couples and small families.
  • Full – Typically called a fifth-wheel camping trailer, a full size trailer has so many different options your trailer will feel like home in no time flat. Even though these trailers are a larger size, they are still relatively lightweight; in most cases, you will not need a super heavy-duty truck to tow it to your destination--usually just a full size truck will do the job. However, you should consult the manufacturer to find out what they would recommend.

Options

Some manufacturers will give you the option of detailing your fiberglass trailer for your specific wants and needs. This kind of customization will give your trailer the feel and comfort you are looking for when venturing into the great outdoors. Some of the available options for a fiberglass trailer include:

  • Exhaust Fan – An exhaust fan circulates air around your camping trailer to help remove high temps and keep the inside fresh.
  • Heater – Having a heater in your camping trailer will give you the satisfaction of knowing if you need heat you will have it.
  • Refrigerator – A refrigerator is a convenience that most campers will enjoy. Not necessarily a must have, a refrigerator is generally a good choice.
  • Awnings – Many different types of awnings are available to help keep the sun off of you when you're enjoying the fresh air outside of your camping trailer.
  • Air Conditioning – This is the ultimate in camping luxury. Most manufacturers offer air conditioning as an option on camping trailers.
  • Solar Panel – Some manufacturers can offer the option of having your camping trailer wired for solar panels. This is an eco-friendly and money saving way to enjoy camping, while storing useable energy for when you might need it.
  • Satellite TV – That's right! You can have your camping trailer wired in the factory for satellite dish use. Now, while camping, you will not miss your favorite television program or sporting event.

While some of these options are a little luxurious, this is just a sample of what you can get when ordering a new fiberglass camping trailer; there are many other options available as well.

Conclusion

If you're in the market for an affordable, luxurious, and lightweight camping trailer, a fiberglass trailer might be perfect for you. With a variety of available options available, you can design a camping trailer that is exactly what you're looking for.

I just thought that I'd pass on some info that you may, or may not know. I saw one of these on the road the other day. It had the website all over it in vinyl letters. I have spoken with the company and I guess that they have just recently begun production. My wife and I are planning a trip to go and see them at their location in TN. From what they have told me, these are the "Cadillac's" of the fiberglass travel trailers! I can't wait to see for myself. Here is there website: www.olivertraveltrailers.com
